Hey guys we are heading north to Tokerau beach for Waitangi weekend.
I really hope you can make it as it's been a long time between kite camps.
It would be great to get a bunch of friendly kiters together for some fun in the waves.

The Kahoona V3 is now here in New Zealand.

Most others out there I've sold are the 11.5m size. Such a grunty kite it replaces the 13m Waroo for bottom end and the 11m for speed of turn etc.

The Worlds highest performance kite is back for 2011.

Kiters have been putting pressure on BEST to re-release the 2009 NEMESIS HP since the model was discontinued end of 2009. And lets be honest, the NEMESIS HP was the highest performance bow kite money could by, and if you wanted a kite that gave you secondary lift on your jumps and tore you up wind this has always been the kite to have bar none.

Saturday was a great day for Kiting here in Auckland. 20 knots of wind or more and an out going tide.
It was good to see so many riders on the water having a blast.
We were riding at St Helliers in central Auckland.

It was satisfying to see so many riders on the water that had come through our Kite Surfing school were out there enjoying quality riding conditions as much  as they did when they first started. I caught up with a few guys I hadn't seen in ages.

The wind has been blowing pretty good these past two weeks and I've managed to get through a few lessons and hit the water for a few sessions myself.

I have a good bit of video coming soon that i will cut down under 2mins long later this week.

I'm not sure what happend but we had a very unusual delay from BEST, it took 6 weeks before the kites shipped.
Now this might sound short by other brands standards where a 2-3 month lead time is usual, but we are used to BEST dropping kites into NZ within about 2 weeks, sometimes less. Which makes for fantastic stock management. It's like kites on demand. Brilliant!
Anyway, we are back in business with the new KAHOONAS here now and the NZ dollar screaming away to new hights.

Did you notice there was a TABOO box in the pile of kites.
Yes, we just received a 12m TABOO for everyone to drool over.
I've had three sessions on this kite over the weekend, in surf & in flat water. Tip Rd, Waipu. Muriwai out west & Shakespear Bay Auckland.
Tough job, but I no complain ;)

First impressions are...

With the New Zealand dollar striking new highs against the US$ (the currency we buy BEST kites in) it goes without saying that the price of kite gear  should be falling like a stone. Well it is. But be aware that it is unusually strong this week and it historically doesn't last longer than about a week at this rate.
